After a long and arduous remodel, we are open! Everyone worked hard to bring our customers a new store that blends our Interior Design business with that of our retail showroom. We think you'll be pleased with the new space and the way it represents LCR. The best part...  

...we absolutely love our new digs! It has such wonderful light, showcasing the product beautifully and in a different way than the old store allowed. Being a house enables our designers to set up rooms where you can really see the way pieces would look in your own home. Oh, and there is free parking!

The new design showroom is now accessible to customers as well. If you enter the store from the parking lot, you walk through the design offices and library. It gives a taste of what LCR is all about and is a nice way to get to know our 50-year old brand. 

The retail shop still has the luxurious gift and statement pieces you’ve come to love - Michael Aram, L’Objet, Michael Wainwright, Nambe, and Annieglass - as well as new and one-of-a-kind product. We now have in some great modern furniture and are excited about the new additions to LCR. 

 

Many of our clients reside within the Farmington Valley, so Avon is a great and central location for LCR. We look forward to seeing familiar faces as well as meeting new ones and introducing ourselves to the community!

LCR is Moving!

LCR started nearly 50 years ago in the Farmington Valley selling fine furniture, antiques and home decor. After many fabulous years in the Center, we've decided to make a move and revisit our roots.  To that end we set out to find a retail space better suited to showcase our collection. And we found it! At the corner of Rt 44 and Waterville Road in Avon, we couldn't ask for a better location.  With plenty of FREE parking, ample workroom for our interior designers, an extensive fabric and wallpaper library and intimately scaled rooms better suited to showcase our collection, how could we not say yes?! Plus there is a sun porch, fireplace, and outdoor space to satisfy our green thumb. What better place to showcase home goods than an actual home!

And don't worry, in addition to increased emphasis on furniture, art and lighting, we will continue to showcase a majority of our most popular gift lines, including Michael Aram, Michael Wainwraight, Nambe and Annie Glass.

Fall is Here!

Fall has finally arrived in Connecticut!  Shorter days, colder nights, changing colors...Stop into the shop and check out our new and warmer fall look – walls repainted, vignettes redone, and shelves restocked.

Buying Trip to NYC

As summer sings her swan song and fall rapidly approaches, LCR has closed out the season with a wildly successful Summer sale.  Our biggest of the year, with discounts 25-50% off, we’ve done some major cleaning house in anticipation of the coming season.  Thanks to all that stopped by!

But with needing to replenish our shelves and bring in some fabulous new finds, we were due for our annual buying trip to New York. 

Peter and Robin have recently returned and we couldn’t be more excited!   In addition to scouring the city for splendid new objects, the guys also attended NY NOW, the go to standard for everything gift, home, lifestyle and handmade.

Held annually at the enormous and labyrinthine Javits Center, the event showcases thousands of manufacturers, designers, and craftsman.  With an emphasis on emerging talents, the event continues to be our go to for discovering new artists and the latest trends in design and home décor.  And of course, it remains the best place to check out the newest lines from such regulars as Michael Aram, Nambe and Ceramica.

Over the coming couple of months, expect to see big changes at LCR.  We not only have new orders with many of our fabulous staples, but are thrilled to announce 15 new artists we’re bringing into the shop for the first time!

In addition to that, we are pleased to announce a greater focus on mens' and childrens' gift items.

Meet Peter Robbin

In our third installment featuring a closer look at some of LCR’s fabulous ongoing projects, we introduce another member and designer of the team.  This week; owner, president, principal designer and fearless leader of LCR; the incomparable Peter Robbin!  

Peter got his start as a graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design with degrees in both Fine Arts and Interior Architecture. Upon graduation, Peter moved to Paris and worked for a successful furniture designer, then honed his skills in NYC with several renowned designers: Angelo Donghia, McMillen and Noel Jeffrey. In 1987, he moved to Connecticut to start his own interior design firm, LCR, located in the heart of West Hartford Center.   Long considered a bedrock of the West Hartford business and design community, LCR as an interior design firm, home furnishings and gift shop has been fulfilling the wishes and dreams of homeowners, brides and stylish individuals alike for nearly 30 years!

 While Peters design philosophy is grounded in tradition, he loves a mix of classic and eclectic elements. Combined with his unassailable good taste, extensive education as both a designer and architect, as well as his years of firsthand experience on a wide range of commissions, Peter never fails to bring a unique, dynamic and innovative approach to his projects. Though Peter’s clients have taken him throughout the country, he currently has ongoing projects in South Florida, southwestern Connecticut, New York and Rhode Island.  

  These projects have not only won favor and acclaim through his clients, but Peter has repeatedly been published in a number of decorating magazines; The New York Times Magazine, House Beautiful, Metropolitan Home, and Connecticut Magazine just to name a few...
